Greece’s fiscal-representation framework, aligned with leading EU member-state practice within supply-chain management, allows companies registered in another EU member state or in a third country to authorize a fiscal representative to protect their fiscal obligations in Greek territory. When the representative is included in the invoicing documentation and goods are received within a fiscal-representative warehouse, the consignee limits VAT liabilities, avoids difficult export-evidence procedures, and bypasses much of the customs intricacy that would otherwise apply.
What we manage on your behalf.
Karlos Enterprises holds the fiscal-representative responsibility under contract. We:
- Implement the appropriate VAT procedures for your cross-border operations
- Manage the flow of goods and services and the corresponding invoicing
- Maintain all correspondence with the Greek tax authorities and keep your team informed
- File corrective VAT returns where prior taxable operations were carried out without a Greek VAT number
- Negotiate retroactive corrections with the authorities where required
- Recover VAT credit due to your operation
When fiscal representation makes sense.
Fiscal representation is typically appropriate for:
- Non-EU companies storing, processing, or transiting goods through Greece
- EU companies operating into Greece without establishing a Greek VAT registration
- Cargo owners receiving goods at a Karlos fiscal-representative warehouse
- Operations involving customs procedure 42 (import with onward intra-EU supply)
