A successful port call depends on dozens of coordinated details: pilotage and tug services arranged, stevedores briefed, ship-owner instructions executed, crew movements and provisions handled, port-authority documents in order. Each detail compounds the next.
Karlos Enterprises provides full vessel agency representation at major Greek ports, twenty-four hours a day, from arrival to departure, so that the master and the owner deal with one team for everything.
24 hours a day.
Vessel arrivals and departures don’t wait for office hours. Neither do we. Full agency representation, from the moment the vessel enters port to the moment it clears: day, night, weekend, holiday.
Established port-authority connections.
Our relationships with port authorities at the ports we operate (Piraeus, Thessaloniki, Patras, Aegion, Elefsina, Volos) are active and long-standing. Documents move faster when the people on the other side of the counter know who is asking.
Cargo and ship, managed in parallel.
A port call is not one job. It is dozens, running simultaneously. Cargo operations and ship operations are managed in parallel by people who have run them many times before. Nothing waits its turn.
What we handle
- Arrival and departure formalities: pilot and tug coordination, port-authority filings, ship-owner instructions to and from the port.
- In-port operations: stevedoring coordination, supply and transport of goods, liaison with shippers and receivers on the owner’s behalf.
- Crew and ship: crew changes, travel and accommodation, fresh water and provisions, medical assistance, necessary repairs, garbage and waste disposal. Cash to Master handled directly.
The intent is straightforward: the master leaves the port with everything attended to.
Damage and exceptional cases
In the event of damage to cargo or the ship, we arrange, at the request of the master or owner, the necessary insurance contacts, nautical inspections, and surveyor services. Our involvement doesn’t end when the vessel sails. It ends when the matter is closed.
