Discharging & Handling

Reefer discharge, supervised end to end.

shape

The window between vessel arrival and cold-store entry is narrow, and the operations inside it (stevedoring, inspection, traceability, onward dispatch) must be sequenced precisely. Karlos Enterprises has been running that sequence for over 35 years, and we apply the same discipline to every perishable shipment we handle.

Stevedoring across the full cargo range.

Our discharging operations cover pallets, containers, and breakbulk. We deploy our own pallet cages, forklifts, and supporting equipment, and our stevedoring teams operate under the safety and handling protocols required for perishable cargo.

The cargo we discharge routinely includes:

  • Fresh fruits and perishable produce, including bananas and pineapples, the cargoes that built our specialization
  • Food and beverages, including alcohol and spirits
  • Household appliances and other consumer goods
  • Bulk and industrial cargo: barley, fertilizers, and inert materials

Different cargoes, identical process integrity across every category we handle.

Inspection and traceability at the quay.

Every discharge is inspected as it happens. Pallet identifiers are recorded, the condition of the cargo is documented, and the data enters our warehouse management system at the point of arrival. Bananas, among the most demanding reefer cargoes in commercial trade, requiring arrival in fresh, green, unripe condition, set the standard for how we approach every consignment.
